In 2017, after living in California, Colorado and the Pacific Northwest, where wildfires and abnormal weather events were becoming the norm, my husband and I returned with our daughters to our roots in the Midwest to settle on a rural homestead in SE Wisconsin. For us, this return was about rooting, regenerating, and revealing to our girls the laborious and wondrous path our food travels from farm to table.
In 2018, after an unusually wet summer, an unprecedented storm front moved in. 65 tornadoes caused the kind of destruction I never imagined I would see in our neck of the woods. The land here is nurturing us and teaching us new things every day. It inspires me to be a better keeper of the earth and to go all in on climate action. It is my most fervent wish to inspire you to go all in too! |
