I'm Kelly Isabelle DeMarco, a resilience coach, occupational therapist, and regenerative practitioner.
Eco-anxiety took root in me in 1991. Since then I've aligned my life with environmental action: cycling the Andes to raise awareness about trash, homesteading with my family, and leading a grassroots green team while working as a clinical manager. Walking through chronic pain, cancer, and end of life with my spouse opened my eyes to the power that lives inside of our ache and taught me that it's not a problem to fix but a portal to the life we desire. I understand busy. I understand that activism only lasts when it fits your obligations, your expertise, and the passions you've spent a lifetime building. I also know the numbing, deadening experience that comes from prolonged numbing to or circumventing the ache and am convinced that this is our primary barrier to thriving for ourselves and the planet. I won't hand you my template for thriving. I'll help you discover your own. |
"Action on behalf of life transforms. Because the relationship between self and the world is reciprocal, it is not a question of first getting enlightened or saved and then acting. As we work to heal the earth, the earth heals us."
- Robin Wall Kimmerer
