A 6-week transformational container for purpose-driven leaders who care deeply and want to lead lit up.
Do you remember what it felt like to lead lit up?
Do you remember that moment when you felt called to say yes to a project, mission, movement - or team that needed the support only you could bring?
It rang like a siren and you felt called to respond.
You felt energized, inspired, lit up, and on fire.
Your vision was clear and you knew why you were there.
And then, slowly, something changed.
The work that once gave you life is now draining you dry.
Maybe you hit snooze, stall at the start of the day, or struggle to find the ideas that once came easily.
You feel disconnected from your why and overwhelmed by problems too large to fix. You are so in it that you can no longer see it clearly.
The work that once felt like daily bread now feels like daily dread.
Your leadership no longer feels alive.
Instead, it is extracting you from the very life you are trying to create.
Burnout is a symptom of extractive leadership.
We have been taught to push harder, produce more, carry more, and keep going—often by overriding the signals that something is wrong.
We disconnect from our bodies, our purpose, and one another. Eventually, we disconnect from the source of energy that called us to lead.
These ways of leading no longer work.
There is another way.
Regenerative leadership begins within.
Regenerative leadership means leading from the inside out and catalyzing a ripple effect of change.
Instead of asking only, What needs to get done?
we ask:
What is alive in me right now?
Why did I say yes to this work?
What is my why now?
What hurts?
What is no longer aligned?
What is the ache underneath all of this trying to tell me?
These questions help us reconnect with the person behind the role—and with the living system we are trying to tend.
Your Ache is not the problem - it's the signal.
When you are burning out, you may be treating your ache as a problem to eliminate rather than energy to resource.
You may have believed that the work itself would fix what hurt, so you went into overdrive trying to make the discomfort disappear.
But you cannot move beyond the ache without disconnecting from the wisdom it carries.
Your ache may hold your WHY—the reason you felt compelled to say yes when others said no. Or it may be telling you that something new is calling you.
Either way, it has something to say.
The work is not to eliminate the ache. The work is to learn how to resource it.
From Ache to Action
The Ache to Action Methodology helps you turn toward what hurts—not to become consumed by it, but to discover the information, energy, and direction within it. Together, we:
Listen for what the ache is revealing.
Reconnect with what makes you feel alive.
Clarify what matters now.
Identify what is aligned and what is not.
Restore the conditions that support vitality, creativity, and connection.
Take action from alignment rather than depletion.
This is how leadership becomes regenerative: not by asking you to sacrifice yourself for the work, but by helping you become part of the living system you are leading.
Imagine leading differently.
Imagine knowing when to push and when to pause, when to lead and when to listen, when to invest energy and when to let something end so something new can emerge.
Imagine feeling connected again to your purpose, creativity, vitality, and capacity to respond.
This is regenerative leadership.
It is leadership that is life-giving rather than life-extracting - for you and your team.
Lead Your Team Without Losing Yourself is about resourcing the wisdom within your ache and leading connected to what you love from the inside out.
Your WHY matters. Your calling matters. And you matter—not only for what you can produce, fix, carry, or accomplish, but as part of the ecosystem you are leading. Regenerative leadership includes you.
Who is this for?
This work is for purpose-driven leaders working in high-burnout environments, including: healthcare, climate and sustainability, agriculture, education, entrepreneurship, nonprofits, social impact, and community leadership.
You may still care deeply about your work.
That may be part of the problem - you care so much that you have forgotten the person doing the caring needs tending too.
Before we ask what your team needs from you, we examine the ecosystem within you and the one you are tending to:
What is the ache pushing you toward?
What is the vision pulling you toward?
What is aligned—and what is not?
What practices support your resilience, restoration, connection, and care? What needs to change so your leadership can become life-giving?
These are the questions you will explore in this course.
Why Kelly?
I know this territory because I have lived it.
After leading a team of seventy front line therapists through the COVID pandemic while navigating my husband's worsening condition of chronic pain without a name at home, I reached a breaking point.
Then my husband was diagnosed with stage 3 terminal cancer and failing kidneys.
As the financial provider for our family and farm, I faced a question I did not know how to answer:
How would I find the capacity to continue to lead my team amidst so many competing priorities - and when the work environment itself felt extractive to my nervous system.
I began naming the ache I felt around cancer, climate change, and the demands of leadership in a broken healthcare system.
Instead of trying to make that pain disappear, I learned to resource it.
I recorded simple videos about what hurt. In speaking the truth of my experience, I began to access the energy within it. That energy helped me keep showing up—to my team, my family, our farm, and the medical journey unfolding around us.
Over 18 months, I discovered that the ache I had tried to fix wasn't the problem I previously thought it was - it was information - and a portal to the very energy I needed to access to navigate such a journey.
I later immersed myself in regenerative leadership training and coaching to understand the true nature of this ache and the deep wisdom that lay within it - and develop a way to help other leaders navigate uncertain times without reproducing the same extractive patterns. That work became the Ache to Action Methodology at the heart of my regenerative leadership coaching.
The crises won't stop - our way of meeting them must change.
The challenges facing our communities and planet will continue to call us forward.
But we cannot meet them through ways of working that consume the very people trying to create change - nor by numbing or banishing the very parts of ourselves that are calling us into the leaders the times we are in need us to become.
We have to learn to lead from the inside out.
When the ache comes, we can numb out and tune it out—or turn toward it, listen, and discover what it knows. Your ache may not be evidence that you are failing.
It may be pointing you toward the next evolution of your leadership.
