As earthlings living on a finite sphere sharing finite resources for a finite length of time, I want more than anything to help people embrace the finite-ness of it all and in doing so bring forth the infinite wisdom and resource within to impact the global challenges that face all of us… some of us more than others depending on where we call home.

I want to help people navigate a personal path to thriving while exploring unique ways we are here to help our planet thrive too.

I believe that personal and planetary thriving work hand in hand.
I believe that we were made for now and we have within us the answers to life’s most pressing challenges.
I believe that within each of us is a LIGHT and we were meant to SHINE it.
I believe that embracing the inevitability of ‘the end’ will help us get crystal clear about the precious present moments we are living in and the unique ways we feel CALLED to show up to them.

Navigating CANCER taught me this.
Navigating DEATH taught me this too.

From what I have observed over the last 30 years as therapist, minister, coach, and activist, we tend to live as if we have forever and put off the life giving stuff our hearts are prompting us to do today while simultaneously investing all kinds of time, money, and resource amassing all kinds of protections to shield us from the potential trials of tomorrow.

The oxymoron of life is that we actually have less time AND more time than we think we do. We do have time to pursue life’s personal call AND it matters that we start now. It matters for our planet and all beings who reside on it. It matters a whole lot for us too!

When we live this way, making each second count for something, in sync with life’s call, we truly thrive! To be clear, in this season of consumption, I’m not talking about gluttony. Gluttony of any kind is NOT thriving.

Gluttony is fear manifesting itself as excess. Excess of any kind separates us from responding to life’s call and true thriving. If you aspire to thrive while helping our planet thrive too, I’m here for you!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons for all kinds of reasons, not the least of which is apple picking with one of my favorite people on the planet! On a farm, even a wee farmette such as ours, fall is also a time of harvest and preparation for the harsher months to come.

Thinking of doing all the things alone is enough to sink a person before they ever get started.

Attempting to walk in Timmy’s shoes makes me understand his feelings of isolation and overwhelm as a fledgling farmer trying to find his way. Did you know that depression and suicide are some of the top occupational hazards amongst the farming population for just this reason? A few days ago it dawned on me that my feelings are there to remind me that I really CAN’T do it alone. Asking for help is a jab to the ole’ pride that tries to convince us we can and should do it alone. But to hell with that kind of pride!

So many things go better when we do them together! …like bolstering up my apple picking partner so she can grab the brightest shiniest apple high up on the tree and so I can keep our small farm afloat😊 Community and Asking are the topics I talk about in this post.

And a huge heartfelt THANK YOU to those who responded to my ask! Peace!

Somehow this image of solar flares reaching down to the earth showing up as waves of light on last night’s horizon just to the north of us feels like thriving.

It’s not a heady thing by any stretch. It’s a whole body feeling. My heart smiled as the midnight sky pulsed and waves of green blue light shot up from the horizon and rolled over head. Why this felt like thriving, I have no idea. But it did.

And that is just how thriving feels to me. It’s a whole body experience that says, I’m alive!

I’m part of this crazy incredible universe that I call home. I’m here! Now! Awake and alert to the magic of life! I am part of vs. separate from. Thriving isn’t happy. It’s not aloof. It’s not some pie in the sky lofty experience only available to the few lucky ones. Thriving is grounded. Earthy. Rooted.

Thriving is an organic experience available to all of us when we allow ourselves to be awake to the full range of human experience… and to our purpose, our reason for being, our soul’s calling. Thriving isn’t a state of pristine health. We can thrive on our death bed or at the bedside of our beloved’s. I know because I’ve witnessed it and lived it myself. Our cancer journey taught me more about thriving than anything else I’ve experienced in my 54 years of life thus far. It was one hell of a way to be schooled in it but educated I was.

That’s me. What about you?! What does thriving mean to you? Please share! I wanna know!
